Welcome To Public Works
Our job is to maintain City streets, City parks and all City buildings and property. Public Works also provides street and storm sewer cleaning and maintenance. The Public Works Department also provides maintenance for the ball diamonds and maintenance service for more than 50 pieces of equipment.

Public Works regular work hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our office and shop are located at 880 North Main Street. During working hours we can be reached at 641-622-2343. After hours someone is always on call. You can reach Randy Hemsley at 641-660-3665.
YARD WASTE AND COMPOST SITE
Located at the East end of East Washington Street, the compost site remains open 24/7 as long as NO TRASH or RUBBISH is deposited there. Also remember to remove any plastic bags you may have used to transport the material.
LEAF PICK-UP 2007 CONTINUES
City leaf pick-up will continue until weather conditions are not favorable or foliage has dropped. Please remember to rake your leaves into the street approximately 1 foot away from the curb. Absolutely no wet leaves and no mowing or mulching leaves into the street, please!
